My First Indy Blog Society Event- Tinker Street and the #ootd

August 27, 2015
Pink Pumps, Leather and Chambray

Yesterday was the first Indy Blog Society event I’ve been able to attend, woohoo!  I’ve only been blogging for 10 months now, but from what I can tell- I’m doing okay for having not hit the year mark just yet. Should I plan a celebration for October, eh?

We went to Tinker Street on the north side of downtown-  and I’ve been itching to go every since it opened.

They have an awesome patio area, with a rustic wood slab table and string lights. I started off the night by meeting two of my blogging gal pals, Brittney of www.theprettyplus.com , and Ashley of www.fashionatelyme.com -and  a bottle of bubbles, of course. (Thanks Ashley!)

The menu looks delicious- comprised of small, mid-size and entree plates and 90% of the ingredients are locally sourced (cool!). The wine is is a good size with lots to choose from, and included a sparkling rose- so I was happy about that! They even gave us little Prosecco samples to start off the night! (Thanks Tinker!)

I ordered the beet and Farro salad, and it was great! That being said- our service left A LOT  to be desired. I know we all can have a bad experience every now and then, and I’ll just chalk it up to that. I WILL go back and give it another chance as my food and drink were good. . . but- I just know that EVERY SINGLE person in our group left unhappy.  (We asked for separate checks before we sat down, and then when we asked for checks, it literally took OVER and hour to get them. Half of them were wrong (we did not switch seats on our server half way through) (mine had an extra drink on it)  and then we were told that someone didn’t pay for their bill, and the last person to receive a bill was asked by the server to pay for her own tab AND the other person’s. We asked for separate checks because this was our first time meeting each other- it’s a little off putting to be asked to pay someone else’s bill wh you literally just met an hour ago- am I wrong?

I know it can be frustrating to take care of a table that’s such a large group. HELL! I work in a restaurant- but our server was rude, visibly frustrated and rolled her eyes at us multiple times. I tried to be overly polite, because that restaurant-worker part of me felt bad- I get it!!! Sometimes it sucks. But you don’t roll your eyes at your guests and make it obvious how much you dislike them. Maybe she was having a bad day,  or maybe she just really hated us. Either way- that’s poor customer service.  I’ve heard other people say great things about the service, so I’ll give it one more chance but DAMN, lady. I just can’t stop thinking about it!

Anywho- here are the outfit deets from last night:

Can we just take a second to recognize these pumps?!?! Ok guys. I know I have a bit of a shoe fetish but these pumps are great for a few reasons. 1. the heels aren’t so high I had trouble walking, making them more comfortable than most pairs I own. 2. PINK PINK and NEON PINK. 3. Barbie has these.

Also, I’ve been training for event I’m working in Vegas next month and I’ve had these shorts forever, but have never worn them until last night. I feel like the extra cardio and healthy eats have started to make a difference in my figure- so that was a nice little surprise when I tried them on! And as always, you can’t go wrong with chambray. This button-up literally goes with anything. I’m actually living in fear of wearing it too often. #firstworldproblems

I also had someone recently ask me about my hair extensions- I haven’t worn them in my last couple posts for two reasons- 1. I’ve been lazy 2. It’s too damn hot for all that hair. When I do wear them, I have the Bellami 22″- which I think are a bit too long and a bit too heavy. I plan on ordering some 20″ soon so I can just run with two clips and call it a half-assed hair day!

Yea, Kim, it was a bummer! However like I said- I know every 1 of 10 experiences can be a bad one, so I’ll just chalk it up to that and I will be going back to give it another chance- and hope it’s better! Thanks for reading, I hope you’ll be back! 🙂
