8 Drugstore Beauty Buys You Need Now

drugstore beauty, beauty for less, makeup review, l'oreal, liquid eye liner, mascara, what makeup should I buy

Why does being a girl have to be so expensive? If you do any type of regular beauty maintenance like myself- the cost can add up! Most of my makeup products are brand name and I typically buy online or at Mac and Sephora. However, there are a few tride and true drugstore products that are my go-to’s when it comes to my beauty regimen. I’ve compiled  a collection of my favorite drug store beauty products, that will help you save a few bucks when it comes to your makeup routine!

You can click on any product in the collection  at the top of this post and it will take you to an online retailer where you can purchase the item.

I also wanted to give a quick review of a few of these, because I’ve tried the more expensive brands for similar products, and I still go back to these items. They can’t be beat for the price!

NYX- Blusher– I have the Cinnamon. It’s a bright orange but looks great at the top of the cheek bone, and is highly pigmented. Don’t be scared by the bright color- it looks great as a summer blush!

Wet n’ Wild Matte Lipsticks– OMG. I LOVE THESE. The color I’m wearing in the photo is “Purty Persimmon” and boy do these lipsticks have STAYING POWER. No need to reapply for atleast a couple hours and they are highly pigmented. Th Purty Persimmon is definitely one of my favorite lipsticks I own- and it’s only  $1.49-$2.49 depending on where you purchase. (I also LOVE LOVE LOVE “Pinkerbell” if you’re looking for a pop of hot coral pink)

L’Oreal BB Cream– I wear this on days I don’t feel like wearing heavier foundation. To the gym, run errands, you name it. It evens out my skin tone with just a hint of coverage to make me look- well. . .not look like I’m dead. You can also use this as a primer under a heavier foundation if you’d like.

NYX- Soft Matte Lip Creams– THESE ARE AMAZING and only $6. It’s basically like liquid lip stain in a tube and you apply with a felt lip applicator. These have great pigmentation and saturation too. I have about 6 of these- easy to apply and great colors to choose from!

L’oreal Felt Tip Liquid Liner– I’ve tried about 50 liquid eye liners from Sephora, and I just keep coming back to this one. It can’t be beat for the price. The last brand I tried from Sephora was the Givenchy Felt tip liner, priced at $30 or something close to there. I liked it but after a few weeks it seemed it wasn’t applying evenly and almost looked translucent at areas of the line. It dried up quickly as well. For $8- I’ll take the L’oreal!

L’oreal True Match Pressed Powder- I always have two of these powders, one for my makeup bag in the bathroom, and one to keep in my purse. I’ve been using this powder for years- again- I’ve tried other pressed powders from various high end brands, but can’t really tell a difference from this one. I usually buy at CVS when they’re doing a buy one get one 50% off!

Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover- This eye makeup remover is strong enough to remove all my mascara, liner and lash glue easily, plus no harsh or perfumey smell. This is my go to remover! I don’t recommend using it on the rest of your face however- it can leave a teeny bit of oily residue.

Another money saving tip I discovered today- you can buy all these beauty products and more at a discounted rate at drugstore.com !

I’d love to her your thoughts on any of these products! Comments welcome!
