Football Fangirl: How to be the Cutest girl at the tailgate Party

Today’s post is late, late, late. Sorry babes. I started a new job last week and I have to admit I am absolutely and utterly EXHAUSTED. My body is not used to these hours, and I’m still trying to adjust. Hopefully I’ll be back at it and on track in the next few weeks.

I hadn’t planned on posting about this, but last Sunday morning when the roomie walked downstairs ready for the Colt’s game, I immediately asked if I could take her picture and do  a “how to look cute at a football game” post. Personally, I’m not a fan of jerseys or going to a hella fun event looking like a frump. As you can see, it’s still possible to dress cute for a football game with out looking like a dude, or being overly dressed (I’m talking about the girls who wear a dress and heels to the stadium).

After a little convincing that she looked adorable, and  a glass of bubbles, I got her to agree a few photos.  AND, lucky for me, two of my other girlfriends showed up just in time for photos, looking just as cute. (I sat out for the photo opp this day as I was wearing my bartending get-up, and there NEVER needs to be photos of that.) Maybe I loved this outfit so much because I am totally mad for plaid this season, have a thing for destroyed jeans and those booties are rocking my world!

How to look cute on Football Sunday! How to look cute on Football Sunday!Cute colts gearHow to look cute on football SundayAs most of you know, if you’ve ever been to an NFL game, (and I think it’s a rule for all stadiums now) you have to have a clear or see-through bag for security reasons. (Lame.)

Krista used a NuMe 25 mm curling wand, purchased at Marshall’s for $24.99.  I also have several NuMe wands- DO NOT buy from their website. Their customer service sucks and you can get the same product at Marshall’s for $100 cheaper. I had purchased an interchangable wand set with my tax money- I was so excited. Then, a piece broke off inside the wand while in my suitcase and I can’t get it out, so I can’t use any of the attachments, or the base. I followed the instructions online, and sent pictures to customer service and I never heard back, so I just decided to buy the  25 mm, my favorite size and get it from Marshall’s. (It’s still working great- so I just don’t recommend the interchangable sets.)

How to look cute on football sundayWe all know that Vicky Secret’s Pink line has uber cute fan gear- right? Which is where Mel’s (and Krista’s tees are from in this post) but did you know that Wal-Mart and Meijer usually have some tees you can jazz up too? If you know me, you know what a cheap ass I am, it’s hard for me to spend $50+ on a tee shirt. In fact, Mel is a bit of a cheap skate too- but in a good way!. Her plaid shirt here is from Wal-mart from last year. (I know you’re going to say- um her wallet is Tory Birch?! That’s not cheap! No, it’s not-but trust me, Mel is a sucker for a sale and while she has nice pieces, she loves a good bargain too!) I love that she is always on the hunt for ways to be cost effective! (You should see her holiday decor in her home!)

How to Look cute on football SundayMegan is bringing in the game day cuteness here with a few of my favorites; leather leggings, chucks and aviators- sporty chic! I swear every time I see the girl  she is so put together-always flawless! And, for the record- this is the most casual I’ve ever seen Megan, the girl is classy and always dressed to impress! I’ve linked  a pair of aviators I’m currently swooning over: blue lenses for an easy match with your Colt’s gear.

What to wear on football SundayMelissa’s boots are Steve Madden, Nordstrom Rack, last season. Krista’s booties are from Target, 2013.  If you are viewing this post on a computer, you can see the product set I’ve created at the top of this post, and you can click on any of the product images for it to take you to the site with each link for purchase. Ok, I’m copying these looks for Blue Friday & Sunday – they are perfect!!
And thanks for the heads up on the NuMe wands. I’ve wanted one for awhile, but had no idea Marshalls also sold them. Did you get it at a Marshalls store here Indy (which one)?

Awww I’m glad you like them Kim! I thought the girls looked adorable! Yes, I got them at the Marshall’s on East Washington Street. I know they have them usually, because I went back and bought one for a friend. Maybe call before hand just to check? Good luck! And have a great time at the game! Thanks for reading! xoxo Kelli
