Indy’s Newest Flower Shop: Blooms by Wildwood: A floral studio

    February 18, 2018

Has anyone else noticed the crazy amount of new locally owned businesses popping up in our beloved city of Indy? Well, of course you have; unless, you’ve been living under a rock.  One of those new spots I recently visited is Blooms by Wildwood– a spinoff/sister store to Wildwood Market in Fountain Square. located on Prospect Street ,just West of Santorini, (my fave Greek place in town and will also be on a subsequent blog post because we decided to eat there immediately after we left Wildwood) hey- two birds with one stone, right?)

Blooms is a small shop space that gives you all the feels right when you walk in the door: a mix of herbal and floral notes create just the right combination to transport you a literal secret garden. (I mean, I kind of felt like it was a secret garden since it’s such a cute little shop!) One of my favorite things about this place is that they don’t just create your typical cookie-cutter bouquet. These bouquets are rustic and moody. I chose one for a friend that contained rosemary, berries and Eucalpytus. They also had English Lavender in the shop and succulents.

My creative gal pal, Kaylee Creighton (also photographer extraordinaire) and I stopped in to build our own bouquet for a styled wedding shoot that Kaylee was shooting the next day. First of all, let me tell you- she’s got such an eye for arranging. . well anything. Mostly pertaining to weddings, her work is amazing so I’ve also linked info at the bottom of this post so you can follow her, too. Kaylee picked out two previously made bouquets and worked with Charise (the amazingly talented Florist) to add in additional flowers and greenery to create this masterpiece:

OBSESSED with this Protea, btw. (The pink tropical looking flower in the lower center of the bouquet).

Up until this point, I’d seen Kaylee’s work but had no idea that she arranges most of her bouquets for photo shoots. I’ve asked her to do the bouquets for my future wedding. (For the record, I’m not even engaged, I’m just thoroughly impressed).

A big thank you to Charise for letting us snap some photos and being willing to rearrange this bouquet a few times to make it just perfect! Make sure to check them out if you are looking for the perfect arrangement and support local!
