    Race Month fashion with Macy’s

    May 19, 2019

Hey Indy, #THISISMAY and that mean’s race month fashion. With so many events going on at the track, you may wonder what the dress code is if you haven’t been before.

Depending on where you are at the track ( suites, stands or general admission on the lawn) you may want to wear something different. Don’t forget there are concerts as well! For a list of happenings and goings-on at the track and around Indy- see my last post “This is May: Things to do in Indianapolis this month”.

Today I’m sharing a couple looks and lots of race appropriate items with Macy’s Castleton. (All items in this post are shopable by clicking on the photo for the link.)

First, let’s start with a suite look, this one could also double for the country concert!

Indy 500 fashion- what to wear to the track during race week.
Free People race month fashion- perfect for a suite.

Of course black and white, and red, white and blue are always popular for track fashion, but when I saw this Free People skirt in bright orange, I fell in love. It’s sassy but you can also dress it down, and so light weight so it will be perfect for one of the steamy hot days at the track. That being said, the suites are temperate controlled, with nice seating, so you can really wear whatever you feel comfortable in. These are a step up from general admission tickets- with full bars, private restrooms and a balcony with seating as well. You most likely wouldn’t wear an outfit like this in the stands, but it could also work for the country concert! (Jacket included because you never know what the weather in May is going to be like in Indiana!)

Below you’ll find all the Macy’s pieces from this look you can mix and match to create a perfect look for one of the suites:

Now, let’s move on to fashion for the stands, Carb day or anything general admission: bring on the red, white, blue and American flag stuff! Oh, and comfortable shoes are key for these looks! I’ve been eyeballing a pair of white Ked’s myself, so I included a few options for you all below:

Two of my favorite items I recently picked up at Macy’s for race week are my new Rayban sunglasses and Michael Kor’s crossbody. I chose these two items because they are classic: you can wear them for every day wear, dress them up, or dress them down like I will be this week at the track. If you’re bold enough to rock the belt bag trend- Macy’s is coming in hot with these two perfect options for Race weekend, too; one with the signature Tommy Hilfiger flag (supes casual) and the other is a rockin’ red belt bag from Steve Madden that could go casual or upscale:

Whatever bag choice you go with- I highly recommend something you can go hands-free with- the better to double fist your Miller Lites, my dear.

Remember y’all, comfort is key and you’ll be doing some walking so I would never suggest wearing heels or something you feel uncomfortable in. Remeber, Macy’s almost always has some great sales going on! What are you wearing to the race festivities?
