Quarantine 2020. Less going out and more cocktailing from my couch. I think us extroverts have all been struggling a little bit, but if nothing else I’ve had fun trying to cocktails at home during this time.

But guess what? DeKuyper Classic Ol’ Fashion liqueur takes the measuring and guesswork out of the equation. Perfect for the at-home bartender looking to simplify things for a beautiful classic cocktail, and an easy night-in.
They’ve made it easy for you by eliminating the need to muddle anything: simply follow the recipe on the label:
- 1 part DeKuyper Classic Ol’ Fashion liqueur
- 2 parts Bourbon of your choice (I used Jim Beam Black)
I garnished mine with a slice of blood orange and a Luxardo cherry. (These are my fave cherries for cocktails!)
For those of you who have never had a traditional Old Fashioned, I feel compelled to share with you the basic recipe so you can compare to the recipe above and see how easy Dekuyper has made it for you!
Traditionally, an Old Fashioned is an orange slice, a cherry, a few shakes of bitters and either a sugar cube or dash of simple syrup, all muddled together. You would then pour your bourbon over this mixture, and add an ice cube. (Often topped with a spritz of soda water).
