French Onion Mushroom Dip

Party favorite- Grandma's Recipe!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 loaves King's Hawaiian Bread (round loaves)
  • 2 8 oz blocks cream cheese
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp Worscester sauce
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1.5 Tbsp fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 8 oz packages mushrooms diced
  • 1 pkg Lipton Brand French Onion soup mix
  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 1/2 c pecan chips

Instructions
 

  • In pan, saute onion in 1/2 stick butter until it begins to caramelize. Set aside.
    Now saute the diced mushrooms in remaining butter.
    Add in Lipton french onion soup packet and garlic.
    Mix onions into mushroom mixture. Set aside to cool completely.
    In a mixing bowl, mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream and Worscester until well blended.
    Mix in cooled mushroom mixture until well blended.
    Last, mix in the pecan chips.
    Slice one of the Hawaiian loaves into cubes (for dipping).
    With the other loaf, cut out the middle (making a bowl to place the dip in).
    Cut up the center piece you've removed for dipping.
