Indy’s First Ever Market for Makers

September 15, 2018

Market for Makers: Indianapolis

Hey Indianapolis- It’s not too late to attend tomorrow’s Market for Makers- our first ever! Market for Makers, for those of you that don’t know is a coming together of creative minds to sell crafted wares in one event venue. If you like Etsy- this place is like shopping Etsy- but in person. If you missed this weekend fear not- I heard they may be coming back in November!

You can purchase tickets online or at the door, but I wanted to share a little bit of our day with you in case you were curious about what kind of vendors were there! You guys know I love supporting local and small business, so this was something fun and different- and these are purchases you can feel good about! I’ll keep the verbiage short and sweet here and let the pics do the talking!

  • jewelry
  • plants
  • clothes
  • body/skin care/makeup
  • create your own flower crown
  • photo walls
  • two cash bars
  • local vendors (Lick Ice Cream, Circle City Kombucha, Goose the Market and more!)

Market for Makers: Arboleya Moreno Art

This was the first shop we stopped at, and I was loving the dainty pieces with the crescent moons. Of course, Ih ad to get the eye necklace because it matches my eye jewelery that I wear on a daily basis!

Next we stopped at Cecile Noelle- another jewelry shop. Also very dainty pieces but different vibe. I have been looking for a coin necklace for the past month or so and couldn’t pull the trigger- then today I aw this one and decided I would go for it!

Cecile was the sweetest and even cut our chains to fit the length we wanted! Mandy and I both got two pieces from her so we could layer them. Would you guys like to see a giveaway with Cecile Noelle soon?

Here Mandy and I are wearing two of our new pieces from Cecile (adding to our stacks!)

something on my list I wanted to look for were cute potted plants. Well- @thetipsygardener had that covered. Check out these beautiful air plants!

As well as local shops- many of these vendors travel from all over the country to be part of this market. @thetipsygardener is based in South Florida!

Showcasing a few more vendors here that I didn’t necessarily purchase from, but wanted to include to show you the diversity of of wares here!

Another jewelry shop that I was really loving was @shinedesignandshop . This shop is all earrings, and they are FUNKY and FUN! I am kicking myself for not buying this fun pair- envisioning it with a black jumpsuit or cocktail dress!

Mandy and I opted to forego the flower crowns because we both have multiples at home, but I wanted to show you guys how cool this was! They had fresh baby’s breath, carnations and greenery as well as flower tape and floral wire out and ready to go for everyone!

Example of one of the cute photo walls they had set up! My only CC would be that while all the photo walls were TO DIE FOR cute, the lighting was kind of wonky at all of them. ( I did my best with a little lighting tweak here!)

Here’s a peek at everything I got today, including some “body batter” (word play on body butter) from @southern_girl_skincare: local to Indy!

(OH! and I almost forgot the most important thing!) I bought sausages. (LOLing over hurrrr). Smoking Goose is my fave butcher shop in indy, and they’re also great for charcuterie, cheeses and locally grown veggies and (occasionally) sauces. In fact, they supply all the meats at OCA SKB, the new foodie spot inside Sun King, and it’s freaking fabulous. You have to try it if your an Indy native!

If you were even thinking about going to the Market in Indy, I highly encourage you to do so! If you like to support local and/or shop small or are just looking to kill some time on a Sunday afternoon- this is something new and fresh for the city of Indy- I hope you’ll check it out!
