I’ve never been one for New Year’s Resolutions. Any resolutions I’ve ever made are usually piddly, vague and un-measurable. This year however, I’m felt like I wanted to write out my goals for the year to help hold myself accountable for my life- to live intentionally- live by design, if you will. Thus- my word of the year:
This year I categorized my goals into 5 niches:
- Home
- Health/Fitness
- Personal/Work
- Financial
- Blog
Separating your goals into your life categories, and then creating measurable/trackable intentions will be the easiest way to hold yourself accountable throughout the year- or at least I know this will help me! If you can measure them and know how you’re doing- you can make adjustments along the way. I hand wrote all my goals out on a large sheet of paper and have it paper clipped into my planner (yes, I still use a paper planner, and yes , I know some of you may think that I’m stuck in the dark ages by physically writing down to-do’s and appointments helps me solidify them in my mind. ) Try it! I also use sticky notes like this on a regular basis- it helps me to make sure I get things done, and it’s nice having a friendly little reminder from yo-badass self. (Tip* Include some positive affirmations on these post-its too!) #thepowerofpositivity
I just bought a “Big Happy Planner” from Michael’s to plan out my 2019. I have been on the hunt for the “perfect planner” for years now. I can’t say this one is it- yet. It does however boast large pages, A MILLION add-ons and extension packs so you can cater to your individual needs. For example- I saw an extension pack for fitness/meal prep- if that’s your thing! I also like that the pages are large, because I personally like to theme my pages and decorate them with colored markers (because I’m 12).
These are also available at JoAnn Fabrics and Hobby Lobby as well as Michaels- make sure to grab yourself a 40% off coupon before purchase if you decide to go for it!
If you’re looking for a resource for daily positive affirmations- this link will take you to a site where there are a plethora of them in several categories. Write them in your planner or on your post-its!
Back to my resolutions- I thought I would share those with you all, because I’ve fount that looking at other people’s goals can truly be inspiring to me, and thought mine may get you thinking outside your own comfort zone. and Y’ALL. . . I know I wrote a lot down- but that’s part of me living this year with INTENTION. Making things happen that I want to BE. So bear with me and I hope this inspires you a little, too!
