Hey blog fam! Today I’m bringing you a post with recipes for some yummy summer time cocktails with Ketel One Botanicals. I’ve been a fan of Ketel One vodka for years, and when they came out with these three new varieties, I was super stoked. I was even more excited when Ketel One sent me the new varieties to try for myself!
The new Ketel One varieties include: “grapefruit and rose”, “cucumber and mint” and “peach and orange blossom”. Gals- these are made with 0 sugar, no artificial flavors, 0 carbs and 100% non-GMO grains so you can feel good about making a lighter, boozy choice!
I’m usually just a vodka soda drinker myself and these three are great with just a splash of soda water and a squeeze of citrus. However, today I’m bringing you three full blown “cocktails” complete with recipes. I was a bartender for 9 years, so I’d like to think I’ve got a pretty good handle on this whole mixology thing- girly drinks might just be my specialty. . . so without further ado, here are my recipes for the Ketel One Botanicals that I hope you’ll try!
Also, can I tell you guys that while making these I drank every single martinis that are pictured here? I was supposed to have help but those plans fell through sooo there I was. . .don’t worry- I wasn’t driving and ended up having a nice little “me” party at home with some delicious dranks and macarons!
First up I used the peach and orange blossom variety. I’m calling this one “Peaches and Dreams” b/c it’s kind of a little twist on a dreamsicle. Although this has heavy cream in it, I think its still fairly light and refreshing!
- 2 oz. Ketel One Botanical- Peach and Orange Blossom vodka
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 1/4 oz tangerine soda
- splash of coconut water
- splash of vanilla
- 1/2 oz heavy cream
- Garnish: slice of blood orange
- Build cocktail over ice in a shaker tin.
- Shake vigorously until cocktail mixture becomes frothy.
- Strain over martini glass
- Garnish and serve!
- The tangerine soda is from Whole Foods and is their signature brand, you could substitute any orange soda if you'd like.
- 2 oz. Ketel One Botanical Cucumber and Mint
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz coconut water
- 1/2 oz soda water
- 3 slices of cucumber
- 3 pieces of fresh mint
- 1 lime wedge
- crushed ice
- In the bottom of a pint glass, muddle together simple, mint, cucumber and squeeze of lime.
- Add crushed ice to the top of this mixture.
- Add vodka and shake.
- Pour whole mixture including ice into a rocks glass.
- Top with coconut and soda water.
- Garnish with cucumber slice.
- You can use sweetened or unsweetened coconut water depending on our preference.
- Alternatively, you can forego the soda water and top with a sparkling wine or Champagne.
All of the flowers, macaroons and fruit for this post were from Whole foods.
- 1.5 oz Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose
- 1/2 oz Cardinal Spirits Flora liqueur
- 1/4 oz simple syrup
- 1 slice of red grapefruit, squeezed for juice
- 1 oz sparkling wine
- Build cocktail over ice in a shaker tin using all ingredients sans the sparkling wine.
- Shake vigorously until well chilled.
- Strain into a coup or martini glass.
- Top with sparkling wine.
- Garnish with grapefruit twist and rose petals.
- I used Segura Vidas vaca as my sparkling wine, as we usually have some of that on hand. You can also use Prosecco or Chanpagne.
- You can also substitute any floral liqueur for the Flora liqueur if you can't find it in your local store. St. Germain elderflower liqueur would be a good substitute and ca be easily found at the grocery or your local liquor store.
- Also- make sure your roses are certified organic before using them as a garnish- most roses are treated heavily with pesticides and you wouldn't want to put any of those toxic chemicals in your cocktail!
