One question I see floating around the interwebs and on bloggers comments is “is Shein for real?” If you shop online at all, chances are you’ve seen ads for this retailer floating around FB, IG or even on Amazon. In fact, a few pieces I’ve ordered from Amazon ended up coming from SheIn and I didn’t realize it!
Y’all- I’m here to tell you what: I LOVE Shein. Let’s start by saying- this post isn’t sponsored– I order from them about once a month- and for the price it can’t be beat. I also like that they have some fun and funky items that I don’t really see elsewhere (well besides other “Asian” retailers).
SIZING: That being said- yes- sometimes items can fit a little wonky, and sometimes the sizing may be a little off– but isn’t that true with any online retailer? If you go into the shopping zone with these things in mind- you should be fine. Reading the reviews on this site in regards to sizing has helped me order successfully my last few orders! In general, I would say that things from this size run a little small- but my last two orders the sizing has been spot on! (With the exception of a pair of sneakers- peep my IG story highlights “Shein Haul”). Golden goose dupes- UM, YES PLEASE! If the item doesn’t fit true to size, generally someone has shared that in the review section. I also look at the fit and cut of the item- is it something with elastic in it? Ok, you should be fine with your regular size. Is it something that looks very fitted and in a material without any give? Maybe size up.
SHIPPING: Used to- SHEin would take weeks to ship- and the shipping label said it would be coming from china. We’re talking 6 weeks. This past year or so, shipping has been so much faster- and the shipping labels I’ve receieved have either been from Jersey or California- looks like they’ve posted up and now have some American hubs. My last five orders have arrived in under a week- and have also been free shipping. Usually they do orders over $100 free shipping, but my last order was “free shipping over $50”.
QUALITY: Let’s be real here guys: you get what you pay for. This isn’t Banana Republic or Saks Fifth. Shein isn’t known for their high-quality, hand sewn pieces. They are known for their trendy selection and low low prices. I’m not saying it’s cheap crap- but I’m also not saying that its the best quality. I also haven’t had any orders where I say “well this is a POS ,” and throw the item in the trash. If you get a top for $6, can you really complain?
ON TREND: She in has so many CUTE , trendy pieces that I regularly look for something specific there. Their accessories, shoes and bags are some of my fave because I can often find designer dupes for under $20!
I’ve linked almost all of the items from my most recent successful hauls below. Full disclosure- if you shop any of the items in this post I may receive a small commission by using an affiliate link.
If something is missing, feel free to let me know and I’ll see if I can hunt it down for you!
Two of my favorite belts are also from Shein:
Happy Shopping friends!
