First off, I’d like to state that I would wear any and every of these items on a regular day- no country concert required. What is it about cowgirl boots that scare people so much? It’s like people wait all year for this one concert to whip out their boots, and they can’t be worn any other day.  Maybe it’s that I’m from the Midwest, or maybe it’s that I don’t care- but I for one am a lover, and an obsessor of cowgirl boots. (I think I own 5 pairs and I’m not sorry. ) Recent trends have been super boho, and distressed- perfect for a vintage, or leather cowgirl boot if you ask me.

I actually wore this outfit on Tuesday this week, to meet up with some other amazing Indianapolis bloggers, no concert or country music- just booze. ( I can honestly say I was a little nervous to meet them. This was my first meeting with other bloggers and it was almost like a blind date. I am happy to say- they were SOOO great! I can’t wait together with you gals again- Ashley at fashionatelyme.com- now underconstruction, check her out on insta @fashionatelyme,  and Brittany at theprettyplus.com–  and on insta @theprettyplus -check them out!)

I wrote this post after I had a request for some country concert outfit ideas. I know it’s a little late and summer is almost over, but I wore these amazing vintage boots the other day and it made me think of my friend Lauren, who had asked. So here you go Mrs. Gunn!

Everything in this set is under $50 with the exception of the sunglasses and tall cowgirl boots. AND, that’s because  I think a good pair of aviator style sunglasses and cowgirl boots are investments. They’re not something that changes with the trends often- I still have a pair of BCBG cowgirl boots from when I was 20 that I wear all the time. And, the boots in the photos above are vintage- who knows how old they are?  INVESTMENT, PEOPLE.

So, here are my top favorite “looks” for country concerts!

    1. I love cutoff shorts. I wear them with any look, but with cowgirl is my ultimate favorite. Hello, Jessica Simpson.

    2. Off-the shoulder tops. These are so in right now! Light and flowy, you can dress ’em up or make em casual.

    3. Aviator sunglasses. Good for anything vintage inspired, country, or every day wear. A good pair of these should never leave your purse!

    4. Flower crowns and headbands.  Fun, flirty and oh, so cute! These are hot right now too. Wear em while you can gals, who knows when they’ll cycle out again! I personally love them for everything, especially photo shoots. I also make them, be sure to check out my etsy store- there’s a link to my shop in the side bar.

    5. The plaid button up. I once wore one to a country concert that my dad had worn in high school (he never throws anything away, so I stole it and up-cycled it.) Paid is always a good choice.

    6. Graphic tees. There are a lot of cheesy ones out there that say shit like “Country bitches do it better”. But I think the one I added to the set is cute! Or if you have a bald eagle shirt. Always wear a bald eagle shirt.

    7. A white flowy dress. Multipurpose here kids. This can be paired with cowgirl boots, or sandals. You can wear this almost anywhere but I especially think a white flowy dress just goes so well with the theme- country girl next-door!

    8.   A bit of turquoise- A bit of turquoise of brushed metal jewelery with that vintage look, or that is vintage goes perfectly with the country look. Do it, dude.

    9. Last but not least. The fanny pack. I’m a big fan of double fisting, y’all. Yea, I know its 2015. But hey, what goes around comes around.  Fashion is no different. Also, how are you going to hold both your beers and your selfie stick if you have to hold on to a purse? Plus, the fringy fanny that I’ve posted is pretty damn cute. Wait! Don’t forget to pack your flask in that super sweet fannypack to pre-game. (Don’t judge me.)

So I leave you with this challenge my blog readin’ babes- bust out those boots and wear ’em on a Wednesday! Not just that once a year country concert! Also have a shot of whiskey. Because whiskey is good any time, too.

    bottoms up! xo Kelli
