Holiday Cocktails with West Fork Whiskey

November 21, 2018

Y’ALL!!! You already know I’m a huge fan of making specialty cocktails for parties! AND, I’m super excited to team up with Kate of IntoIndy and West Fork Whiskey to bring you these fun (and easy) holiday recipes!

Kate and I have created two cocktails for y’all below, and we had so much fun (and many shots) while making this video for you. I have to admit I was a little nervous: I did a youtube video for work a few months go and looked like a complete idiot reading of a Laptop/prompter so I was afraid this would turn out just as awful as that one! LOL! (Maybe I just should always take shots before getting on camera?)  What do you guys think, should we make more videos?!

Kate and I also created two recipes that will be easy for all your holiday party needs, and here are the links to those as well:

Kelli- Hot Buttered Bourbon Cake with West Fork Whiskey

Kate- West Fork Whiskey Bourbon Meet Balls

Without further ado, let’s jump right into the bourbon barrel (and get ready to get uber basic), if you will! First up is our Pumpkin Spice Cocktail– like pumpkin pie in a glass, but with a kick!

Pumpkin Spice Martini Cocktail

Pumpkin Spice Martini Cocktail

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 1oz Rumchata
  • 3oz  West Fork Whiskey Colonel Bourbon
  • 1 oz Maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp of pumpkin puree
  • Dash of pumpkin spice
  • Dash of vanilla extract
  • Tub of CoolWhip
  • 2 crushed  of crushed graham crackers
  • Shaker
  • Ice
  • Strainer

So technically this is a martini.. but we made it using cute on the rocks glasses.

  1. Grab your glass and sink the rim into the cool whip – make sure to get plenty of the whipped topping on so the graham crackers will stick.
  2. Crush up graham crackers in a plastic baggie – this reduces the mess and frustration… trust me.
  3. Empty crushed graham crackers on a plate.
  4. Once you’ve rimmed the glass with the whipped topping, dip it on the plate with the graham crackers so that they stick to the rim.
  5. Next, pour your bourbon, Rumchata, maple syrup, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and vanilla flavoring into the mixer and shake that baby up.
  6. Strain the cocktail between two glasses.
  7. ENJOY!

Next up!

Cinnamon Cranberry Bourbon Smash ft. West Fork Whiskey

Cinnamon Cranberry Bourbon Smash ft. West Fork Whiskey

I always love using Rosemary for a garnish in cocktails, it’s so aromatic and makes me feel nature-y AF when I go down and breath in that piney-herbal freshness, don’t you agree?

Cinnamon Cranberry Bourbon Smash ft. West Fork Whiskey

This cocktail is quite a bit simpler, with fewer ingredients, but will still be sure to please your party goers! To be honest, I hadn’t tried West Fork’s cinnamon whiskey before this recipe. (IHATE Fireball, with a fiery passion-  har, har: I got dad jokes y’all) and I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried this. The flavor is quite a bit more subtle and smooth than Fireball, and it doesn’t taste chemical or burn going down. Well done West Fork!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 4 oz of West Fork Whiskey 3rd Degree Whiskey (This is a blend of Cinnamon liqueur and Whiskey)
  • Splash of lime juice
  • Splash of cranberry juice
  • Splash of champagne or ginger beer
  • 1 oz of Simple Syrup
  1. Start with ice in your shaker for this cocktail
  2. Add 3rd Degree
  3. Add a splash of lime juice
  4. Add simple syrup
  5. Shake until your cocktail is cold
  6. Strain half of the liquid into one glass and a half into the other
  7. Add a splash of cranberry juice.
  8. Add a splash of desired effervescent mixer (we used sparkling wine but you can also use ginger beer or ginger ale!)

You can purchase West Fork Whiskey by searching locations at this link: “where to buy”.

Happy Holiday’s friends, and I would love to hear if you try either of these recipes at your own holiday get together!
