Let’s talk makeup bag essentials! What do you keep in your purse on a daily basis? Are you the super mom who can literally pull a white rabbit out of her bag? Or the gal who can never seem to find what she needs when an emergency touch up is needed? I always keep a few necessities in a small makeup bag in my purse for touch-ups through out the day, along with a few other simple bobbles that always seem to come in handy.
I personally really enjoy seeing the other gal’s “what’s in my makeup bag” posts because you know the few items they carry with them on a daily basis have passed the initial test and made the tough cut to “daily favorites”.
You can shop this post by clicking on the product text below, or using the carousel at the end of this post!
- Sephora Collection- Matte Perfection Poweder Foundation– Comes in 34 colors, a medium finish and good for all skin types. $20
- Bare Minerals Gen Nude Powder Blush, shade: “Call my Blush” $24 Buildable color that gives you that nice natural “pop of pink” to freshen you up when you need a little pick-me-up!
- Sephora Pro Mini Flawless Light Powder Brush #50.5- $20 I specifically picked this brush because I not only liked the fluffy soft bristles, but it has a short handle on it, so it fits perfectly in my makeup bag. It also has a plastic cover that comes with it, so if you like, you can replace it after each use to keep the interior of your bag clean!
- Bare Minerals Gen Nude Patent Liquid Lipstick– in Rebel. $19 This one is advertised as a liquid lipstick, but I like to use is as a gloss- it comes out a very nice light pink on a bare lip, or is great to build over a more solid lipstick, too.
- Bare Minerals Gen Nude Over Under Lipliner in “Borderline”$16 The perfect pinky-nude, this liner will literally go with any neutral lip in your bag!
- Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint in “namaste”. $20 This one smells slightly of peppermint and goes on with a super creamy yet matte finish. I’m on my third tube of this particular color, so you know I love it!
- Ronert MD, Post Collagen Lip Treatment, $30. On my third tube of this because it’s also, that good. This one can be bought on the image skincare website, but I also found it on Overstock. I don’t personally use chapstick, it’s either this or Aquaphor for me, and this one keeps my lips super moisturized and has a faint yummy vanilla icing smell to it!
- Revlon Nail Scissors– $7.79 You wouldn’t believe how often these little mini scissors come in often! It’s always a surprise to me how much I use them: for a straggly thread, a runaway hair, or for my sewing kit- really I have just learned that these are such a life saver in random situations!
- Revlon Slanted Tweezers– $10.72 Same goes here as with the scissors. It never fails that I’ll be sitting in the car and find some 3 foot long random brow hair that would otherwise drive me nuts- and voila I have tweezers with me! Another sitch, recently, I was at a shoot where someone was looking for tweezers to put lashes on, and guess who had some?!!?! THIS GAL! I’ve also used them for splinters and cacti hairs, so I guess ya just never know?
- Mini Quick-Thread Needle Kit– $4.78 Between loose buttons and wardrobe malfunctions, I like to be prepared- plus somehow this little kit always ends up getting used on vacation and trips!
- Nail file– Again, one of those “you always need it when you don’t have it” things.
- Comb– because, necessity.
- Bobbi Pins
- Hair ties

As weird as it sounds, I never carry a little touch up bag with me and when I do bring my essentials, it’s just my chapstick! If I’m wearing a lipstick that day I’ll make sure to throw that in my purse too. Oh yeah, I usually keep some blotting sheets with me occasionally. Thanks for sharing!
